Don't worry. This rare Black Gum tree in the Kuncanowet was not actually harmed in the making of this photograph.

The Kuncanowet Town Forest and Conservation Area management committee will hold a trail maintenance day Saturday, May 19 from 9:00 am until approximately noon. Work will primarily involve removing branches and fallen trees from the trails. We will meet at the trailhead at the end of Holiday Shore Drive in Dunbarton.

If you come to help, please bring clippers, loppers or a saw. Packing insect repellent and water would also be advisable.
